In Taiwan, in order to encourage applicants to use electronic applications and speed up the examination of trademark registration applications, IPO expected to implement the "fast track mechanism" on May 1, 2020. At that time, as long as the following conditions are met, the trademark application examination will earlier than the general trademark registration about 2 months.
(1)Electronic application
(2) It is a two-dlmension trademark registration application, excluding non-traditional trademark, certification mark, group mark, group trademark;
(3) All designated classes are exactly the same as the reference names of the IPO electronic application system;
(4) Use the predesignated account to withhold, print the electronic application payment slip and use that to pay, and use the account of the electronic application payment slip to pay the application fee with eATM (payment method);
(5) If an agent is appointed, a provided by applicant should be attached.
The trademark cases of Gold Keen are all sent electronically, and we would select the class that meet the regulations of IPO for applicants. Therefore, for the two-dlmension trademark case with an application date after May 1, first notification date from Gold Keen will be about 1.5 months earlier than current!
Cases belonging to the “fast track mechanism” are noted in the "Trademark Single Detailed Report" about one month after the application.
